A game of 'dots and boxes' is in progress. Players take turns drawing a line (horizontally or vertically) between two adjacent dots. If the line causes a small square (a box) to be enclosed, the same player continues by drawing another line; otherwise, it becomes the opponent's turn again. The object of the game is to enclose more boxes than your opponent.
