Here is a six-word cryptic crossword puzzle. Each clue contains a normal definition and a wordplay definition for the same answer. For example, consider this clue: Tavern they say is trendy (3). The answer is 3 letters long. The normal definition (Tavern) points to "INN". The wordplay definition (they say is trendy) indicates that we are looking for a homophone (indicated by "they say") of "IN" (trendy). For more instructions on how to solve cryptic crosswords see How to Solve Cryptic Crosswords.
1 Across: &literal (entire clue is both wordplay and definiton)
4 Across: Initials (answer is the initials [commencements] of three words)
5 Across: Charade (answer is made from two parts) - Pawn + e.g. = a wooden leg
1 Down: Reversal ('Raise' implies reversing the letters of a cooking vessel to form a lid)
2 Down: Hidden (answer is part a word in the clue) - First Lady is part of the word "fever"
3 Down: Two meanings (2 standard definitions for 1 word) - Pester and an old horse
